In the Presence of Ghosts
There she stands, see her?
Behind the headboard of the far bed,
is the faint outline of a presence.
Waiting perhaps for the body on the other bed to arise
and walk,
which it should do any time now, given
that it is alive.
Through the window, we see that it is daylight now,
and that both the body on the bed need
to get up, as does the suitcase need to be picked up
so that the bed allows a useful sleeping form to
descend and rest there,
from the ceiling,
where it has been floating all along,
overseeing the humanly events occurring.
