In the Dark

"Hello, have we met before?"

No response.

"I can't see you very clearly, so you must excuse me if I seem suspicious or guarded."

....uncomfortable silence.

Now, I'm thinking, he doesn't appear very open to dialogue.

But he continues to stare at me in silence and without movement.

A few seconds more and, I'm feeling panicky.

"Perhaps it's time to leave."

This is not a confined space, so I am able to get away from this person as quickly as is possible for me.
